Diabetes is a disease characterized by the impairment of the body to process blood sugar. If not monitored and managed well, diabetes can cause an excessive increase of sugar level in the blood, which increases the risk of dangerous conditions such as stroke and heart disease. There are different diabetes types and management of each diabetes type depends on its characteristics. Some forms of diabetes are caused by being overweight or by leading a sedentary lifestyle, while some others are existent from childhood.
